For enthusiasts who believe in lightweight, high-revving, and razor-sharp performance, few platforms rival the Mazda Miata. But a stock Miata is just the starting point—what happens when you take one to the extreme? This project was all about pushing the platform beyond expectations, transforming it into a track-ready, time-attack weapon capable of competing at the highest level.
From the start, this build was never about just adding horsepower or slapping on aero—it was about engineering a balanced, reliable, and fiercely competitive race car. Every component was carefully selected to ensure durability, power, and precision, with a meticulous attention to detail that sets this Miata apart from any other.
The entire car was stripped down and rebuilt with performance in mind. The drivetrain, suspension, and chassis were all inspected and refreshed by Tarek at All Auto, who went through the car with a fine-tooth comb. The result? A machine that is flawlessly dialed in, mechanically perfect, and ready to attack the track.
Powering this Miata is a fully-built, turbocharged BP engine designed for responsiveness, durability, and outright speed. The engine, originally built by Flyin' Miata, features Carrillo forged A-rods and Weisco forged turbo pistons, increasing displacement by 45cc. The balanced crankshaft, upgraded valvetrain, and ARP head and main studs ensure that it can handle aggressive driving conditions with ease.
A Trackspeed EFR 6258 turbo kit provides instant throttle response and reliable boost, managed by a Megasquirt PnP Pro ECU. The SuperMiata coolant re-route, crossflow radiator, and Mocal oil cooler keep temperatures in check, ensuring that the car remains reliable during long stints on track. The exhaust system, featuring a ceramic-coated manifold, downpipe, and custom 3” stainless exhaust, helps optimize flow while keeping heat in control.
A fast car is only as good as its ability to stay planted, and this Miata was engineered for high-speed stability and cornering confidence. The 64” APR GT250 wing paired with Archetype Racing endplates provides massive rear downforce, while the Racebred/Archetype Racing front splitter and hood louvers balance airflow up front. A lightweight hardtop with polycarbonate windows reduces weight while increasing structural rigidity.
Inside, this Miata is all business. A RaceTech RT4119HRW seat with Safecraft harnesses and center net ensures the driver is secure at all times. The OMP 310 ALU GT steering wheel, NRG hub, and Kyostar dry carbon quick release provide precise control. An AIM PDM32 power distribution module, AIM 10" dash, and SmartyCam ensure real-time data monitoring, helping to fine-tune performance with every lap.
A fire suppression system, helmet blower, and Coolshirt setup make endurance stints more comfortable, proving that while this car is extreme, it’s built with the driver in mind.
The Miata’s six-speed transmission is paired with a Miata Roadster short shifter for precise shifts. A 3.9 OS Giken limited-slip differential ensures optimal power delivery out of corners. The braking system features a Wilwood tandem master cylinder with an in-cabin bias adjuster, StopTech STR43 brakes, and factory ABS.
On the suspension side, JRZ RSPro3 coilovers are complemented by poly bushings, Racing Beat sway bars, SuperMiata endlinks, and spherical bushings for razor-sharp handling.
This build represents what happens when engineering, attention to detail, and passion for performance come together. Every modification was carefully chosen, installed, and tested to create a balanced, powerful, and precision-built race car.
Whether dominating time attack events, carving up technical tracks, or simply standing out in the paddock, this Miata is proof that with the right vision, the Miata platform can be pushed to extreme heights without sacrificing balance and reliability.
